I've been working in the Surveillance world for 10 years with 7 of those being at the Director level. In that time I've been the project lead on 4 complete casino surveillance analog to digital conversions, and 3 new casino building surveillance installs. USI introduced us to the Avigilon NVR CCTV systems which is now our standard for new and
replacement installations. This high definition system with its digital IP cameras and user
friendly applications is far superior to our previous analogue systems. The systems in place
at our offices have been a very useful tool for incident report investigations including those
which escalated to require police involvement. Having the option to record footage in the
native or AVI format has been very beneficial.

I am a former RCMP officer with years of service in the force. I retired from the RCMP after which I worked for BC Lotteries Corp as a regional security compliance officer. My responsibility was to ensure the casinos throughout in the province of B.C. camera, access control, alarm and key management systems were installed and maintained to regulation and in compliance. In my career, I gained a tremendous amount of insight to the quality of workmanship, and the levels of service that companies provide on a day to day basis. As Chief Security Officer for the Credit Union I am responsible for security equipment in the branches.
We went to market to upgrade our branch surveillance system approximately four years ago. After a comprehensive RFP process we engaged the services of Unified Systems Inc. (USI) to design and implement a companywide network based video management system to replace our various aging systems in our branches.
The end result was a top quality, professionally installed solution. The system is reliable, intuitive and the image quality is great.
I and my team can sit at our desks; interact with any of my branches, allowing us to deal almost instantly with robberies, frauds, police and other credit union requests and day to day branch incidents. I am notified within seconds of a site power outage, or if there is any camera failures or other system issues.
We use the system every day. The image quality and video evidence is amazing. We have experienced a nice return on our investment through robbery conviction rates and thwarting fraud attempts. The system has also proven useful for ancillary purposes such as confirming member participation in transactions.
